The Australian Government’s new Legal Services Panel for the Provision of Legal Services was launched in Canberra last week. MV Law was appointed to the Corporate & Commerical category in the areas of contract law, and procurement and tendering, as well as Legal Support Services.

According to the Attorney General, the new panel comprising of around 60 specialist legal providers from across Australia and across a wide range of service expertise, will provide the majority of the Commonwealth’s external legal services until 2024.

The Panel was recommended by the Attorney-General’s Department’s Secretary’s Review of Commonwealth Legal Services to harness the purchasing power of the Commonwealth and achieve efficiencies for both providers and for agencies requiring legal services.  The procurement process involved extensive consultation and evaluation to select the successful providers, with assistance from numerous Commonwealth agencies.

MV Law’s Managing Partner Christine Murray said the firm is delighted to be included as one of only 62 Australian firms selected to represent the Commonwealth, particularly as one of the small to mid-tier providers.

“We are particularly thrilled that our resourcing business, previously known as MV Presence, is recognised as a go-to for the Commonwealth in the provision of high-quality legal and administrative support to small, medium and large Commonwealth entities and companies,” she said.

“The Commonwealth’s selection of MV Law’s commercial legal team is another great indicator that our firm is set to continue its long and successful partnership with government in this sector,” she said.
